Returns & refunds

Last updated 11 June 2026.

Hydrogen Machines Australia supplies industrial PEM systems configured to your engine specification. This page sets out how we handle transit damage, faulty units, change-of-mind requests and duties / taxes on returned shipments.

Transit damage & shortfalls

Inspect the consignment on arrival. Notify transport@hydrogenmachines.com.au within 7 days of delivery with photos of the outer packaging, the damaged item and the consignment note. We arrange a replacement or, where requested, a refund of the affected line at no cost to you.

Faulty units (DOA)

A unit that fails to operate to specification within 30 days of delivery, when installed in accordance with the supplied installation guide, is replaced under our warranty at no cost. See /warranty for the full process and exclusions.

Change-of-mind returns

Unused, unopened units in original packaging may be returned within 14 days of delivery for a refund of the goods price. Return freight, insurance and any return-import duties or taxes are the customer's responsibility. Configured-to-order or commissioned units are non-returnable.

Duties & taxes on returns

Where we prepaid duties and local taxes on dispatch (DDP destinations) we will, where the destination customs authority permits, lodge a duty-drawback or refund claim and pass the recovered amount back to you once received. Where the carrier collected duties on arrival, you must claim any refund directly from your local customs authority. We are not able to refund duties or taxes that we did not collect.

Refunds

Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 10 business days of receipt and inspection of the returned goods.
